Ready to speak up
You can invite me to speak at your conference, meeting or take part in your discussion panel. I also like to give lectures for students or just anybody who is interested. Whether it is on creativity, park development, public space, city planning, regeneration, talent and many other issues that come across when you want to discuss the attractive city.
The speech is about the context of the city, about transformation projects and about strategic thinking on any urban level, both in the Netherlands and abroad. Evert shares his knowledge in a lively and inspiring way with his listeners. He doesn’t deliver standard speeches, but always adjusts his talks to the specific situation.
Over the past many years Evert Verhagen has spoken at the TEDx conference in Perm (Russia) in Beijing (China), in Taichung (Taiwan), in Porto Alegre, Recife and Nova Friburgo (Brazil), on the Cultural Forum and on many other occasions in Moscow (Russia), in Milan and Locri (Italy), in Ljubljana (Slovenia), in Leeds, Belfast, London and Cambridge (UK), in Dinslaken, Essen, Mainz and Dresden (Germany), in Riga (Latvia), in Valencia and Bilbao (Spain), in Gdansk (Poland), in Porto (Portugal), in Antwerp and Brussels (Belgium), in Budapest and in Pecs (Hungary), in Bucharest and Baia Mare (Romania), in Kiev (Ukraine), in New York, Seattle, Washington, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Kansas and Buffalo (USA), in Toronto (Canada), in Salzburg (Austria), in Casablanca (Morocco), in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem (Israel) and in almost every city in the Netherlands. My most recent talks were in Russia in October 2019 at the World Park Forum conference in Kazan and with a lecture for students in Volgograd.

We spoke at the Club of Amsterdam last week. I was not expecting to be a speaker that evening but, according to Felix and the reactions I received, it seems my contribution was appreciated. There was a lot more I could have spoken about since this liminal phase in transformation is my speciality.
In view of my ongoing research, I am now reading about your regeneration of the Westergasfabriek with great interest. I would like to know more and would appreciate visiting your office for a cup of coffee if you have the time.
